this is just about the stupidest thing i've ever read.

for the record, my friend has MUCH less than 30k into his car (92 gsx, t3/t4 powered), but i guess his car isn't a "street race car," even though it's faster than you're all-motor car is, or will be.

also, if i saw someone with 30k into their car squeak by someone with 5-7k into their turbo car, i would simply feel sorry for the n/t owner.

Ok yeah squek by when im running over 300hp and with mass. weight reduction ill do more than squeaking by and also my car will look good also...buy yah know some morons just dont understand that n/t can be really fast with alot of money.
WILL SEE WHOS SQUEAKIN BY THEN.......

Let's settle this now.
1) All of our cars are the same talon3787, so his will look good too. As well as mine.
2) You have radical views which I don't believe has a just meaning but I guess every man to what he wants.
3) Turbo guys can do massive weight reductions too.
4) I hope you have fun doing this, but if you are putting 17k into a n/t engine, why not put the 7k... not 17k but 7k... into beefing it up with 10:1 pistons and running a 20G. With the right supporting mods, you'll be looking at over 500HP

you can make 300hp easily without nitrous or a turbo charger.

it's called a custom built one off supercharger. there ya go, glad i could answer your question for ya :thumb:.

of course i'd just love to hear your path to 300hp na. and i'm sorry but i'd laugh in the face of anyone who dropped $17,000 on an nt car only to come out with 300hp. hell my nt car has a turbo motor in it and i should easily be at the 250hp stage and you could duplicate my setup for about $2,000 at most. if my 16g hadn't crapped out on me i could easily be over the 300hp range. but you know what keep talking to those magical mechanics and spending money you don't have and don't pay attention to some of the most experienced nt mechanics on this site, cuz everyone knows that's the path to success.

oh and hit me up on aol sometime, mavisky2, i'll even log on right now just for you little buddy

has anyone else realized that he is planning on spending SEVENTEEN TO THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS?!!?! Kid if your goign to spend that much money to build a, as you put it, "street race car" then why the hell dont you start with a big engine. Get rid of that NT Talon and go buy an old camaro or nova or chevelle. our cars have a FOUR CYLINDER ENGINE, and although after spending 17-30 thousand dollars on that four banger you could have close to 300hp......why not buy an old nova with a 350 V8 in it and spend that same amount of money to have a 500-600hp monster of a hot rod? i mean you say all you want the car for is to make it a true NA "street race car", then go with the bigger engine buddy...cuz i know id sure as hell be pissed if i spent 17000 dollars on my car and it only put out 300 hp when the turbo guys can spend 5 grand and be close to 400 hp.

I'll play devil's advocate here only because a friend of mine brought up a point right before I was going to say something against it. The S2000 is bone stock 240hp at 4 cylinder motor. yeah it has that veee-tick in it and what not, but the pistons , rods and head are still stock. And its a high rev motor, ala the rx-8. I guess in his defense, if you were to build the motor w high compression, race port the head and go bigger on everything else w proper electronics, it could be possible; sometimes we forget its all in the tuning too. is see this as up to 10K including labor, not 17k needed tho. sorry to have to use Honda as an example.

If you really want to be considered a street race car you have to have put about 30K into your car so turbo cars are pointless...just answer this if you had a non-turbo car that beats a moded turbo car who would be more respected and have the nicer car yeah thats what i thought im going to build a race car not think i have a race car by only putting like 5 thousand into it.....

Buy an old camaro, tub it out, build a decent small block for under 2k, and you will beat turbo cars with a non turbo car all day long. The only replacement for displacement is forced induction. But that of course is what your not wanting to do  .

if you want to build a 4 cylinder motor to be fast n/a, go get a honda vtec crate motor and drop it in a tubbed out crx....

if you want to build any n/a car to be 300hp "easy", you are barking up the wrong tree with a 4 banger....

i dont know who in their right mind would say that you can reach 300 hp out of that motor n/a. i would say that honda has pretty much maxed out the reliable capacity of any 4 cylinder motor with their h22 prelude motor and the s2k motor. and those are 250hp or less. so basically, you are telling me that you are going to out engineer the honda engineers, who made the s2k redline reliably at 9gs??? you are nuts... its not gonna happen. and if it does, you will have to sacrifice your first born child to get there. another example: look at the m3: spectacular motor.... 333hp out of a 6 cylinder... quite impressive. thats out of a 6 cylinder.... NOT A FOUR...

so have fun trying to rope that unicorn buddy, watch out you dont take its horn up your ass!!!

I want have to give up shit i dont know about you people but you all talk like everyones poor in hear. Sorry to break it to you but im only 16 and im makin 4000 a month and i already have 7 thousand saved up and by the end of next year i should have about 25 thousand saved up so......dont talk crap when you dnt know the faxs

if you are so goddam rich, buy an evo! this is rediculous... nobody buys a dsm to make it into an "all motor monster". and id love to see the dynos of anyone who has tried.

this thread is going to be closed. while he might be able to hit 300hp i still haven't seen a single specific modification and this is turning into a repetitive bashing. come back and play when you have at least a parts list made up.
