my car puts down 182.6 whp and 167.4 lbs./ft. of torque since my recent change of set up and it is all motor by the way...200 whp is possible, i'm not even close to finished and i'm only about 18 hp away...as for beating gst/x's, i usually can give stock ones a good run, but if at all modded, they can definitely prove to be quite the challenge...i hold my own though...

Mods.

I'm not going to call BS if you can provide me with a dyno sheet and some timeslips. But trust me, I got my flag ready.

No I'm calling bullshit already. You will NOT get 200hp na without a swap.

#@%#@%#@%#@% dyno sheet you can go find a buddies 186whp run. List your mods.

i agree, i just looked at this guy's (or what he claims) 1/4 time....something like 14.46?????!!! wouldn't that make this guy like one of the fastest n/a 420a's in existence? wow, we have a true icon among us.....

B.S.!!!!!!!!!!

u guys have no faith in people engine building ways, i know for a fact 200n/a hp out of a 420a motor can be acomplished

a good stage 3 or so port job 12.5:1 pistons and a milled head or just custom pistons a knife edged crank balanced

lightened flywheel and udp

ported intake manifold 60mm tb

larger injectors and some tuning afc or somthing better

u still have stainless steel valves and larger ones to play with cams and valve train

i know u could 200whp out of it and if those aren't enough go grab a 2.4litre stratus or pt cruisar motor and i garentee u can scrounge 250hp outa that

LOL well I hope he has more than what he has in his mod list. People on 2gnt have more than that and still dynoing about 140whp.

14.46 would make him the fastest in reality but since most people live in internet lala land he wouldn't even place because we have seen 11 second all-motors appear and dissappear.

(emphasis added)

 You ever ridden in an AWD turbo during launch? What experience do you have with 4G63 cars?

just follow motofool's advice and go with the 2.4 conv...gobs and gobs of torque to be had...

Gosh all this talk is geting me power hungry...and im planning the next stage even before proj 2.4 is under my hood ....good going guys...hehe (my savings act. really hates me now hehe)

200hp is possible. just spin the #### out of the engine, raise the compression, and then throw on a good flowing head with some good sized cams in it.

hell that's the way honda hit 240hp in their S2000, but its running 11:1 pistons though.

ok now to clear up some obvious bullshit in this thread.

1. i don't care what you say a stock gsx will dominate a 200hp nt. it will, no arguments, bottom line, deal with it. if you know anything about drag racing you'll know that a little spin off of the line is ideal since it means the motor isn't being bogged down by traction and the engine's power isn't being wasted by gross amounts of wheelspin. listen closely next time you see someone get a good launch. you'll clearly hear the tires either faintly slipping or chattering through first gear.

2. i don't know who's cars you're hanging around with but anyone not getting full boost by 3500rpm on a 200hp stock dsm needs to rebuild their engine or turbo because something isn't right. with a bone stock motor, 14b, and only an aftermarket exhaust and i was hitting 16psi by 3500 rpm no problem. even with my 16g i was hitting full boost by 3750.

3. nt gear ratios (at least in the first gens) are shorter than other fwd's. in fact they're nearly identical (ratio wise) to the awd's shorter gearing. what this means is that the cars are in each ratio for a shorter amount of time, but the higher ratios multiply the torque more to give it a quicker feel to the car. i know because i have a fwd 2.0 nt transmissino hooked up to a near 300hp turbo block in my own car. look at my trap speeds as compared to the overall times and you can see that my car is pulling like hell on the top end because i'm sacrificing traction off the line. with higher gear ratios it essentially puts more torque to the wheels in all the gears than a standard gst would. let's say i have 300lb/ft of torque at 4000rpm (just for argument's sake) and lets say that in 1st gear my ratios work out to about 2:1 (ignoring tire diameter and its effect since they're probably similar between my car and a gst) now let's say that the gst's ratios work out to 1.9:1. while i am putting 600 lb/ft of torque to the ground at 4000 rpm if i were to switch transmission i'd suddenly only be putting down 570 lb/ft of torque. but the advantage is that i'd be able to hold on 1st gear past 30mph (which is where my nt tranny hits redline).

i'd love to clear more of this up but i've gotta go work on my car, again.

If NT dsm puts 190 WHP there is no way that GSX(210 crank HP) will beat it.If some one say GSX will win he just dont know shit about cars.
NT is about 350lb lighter then GSX so it is obvious who is the whiner here.I raced with my 1G (see mods) vs 1G AWD TSi (STOCK). My car puts 115WHP and as u know stock AWD TSi puts 195 (On the crank).
We raced from a run at 70mls/h.Im on 3th gear he is on 4th gear.
From 70-95mls/h (my redline on 3th gear) I was about 30 inches ahead of him.My car wight about 2550lb(2700 with me in it) and AWD TSi weights about 3100lb( they were 2 males in this car about 150 each of them=3400lb).
SO 2700lb NT(115whp) on 3th gear VS 3400lb AWD TSi(195crank) on 4th gear=NT wins by 30 inches. (( 194 crank=abou165whp.)).
So it comes to show that body weight does metter.I have seen 250HP CRX beating 350HP NSX(turbo) by 1 cars. The CRX was 1600lbOMG the NSX was TURBOed and it was about 3300lb.SO 1600lb vs 3300lb= :shhh: Just imagine how this 250 hp will launch this 1600 lb.the car just jumped.

From the dyno sheets I've personally seen, most stock 1g turbos put down under 185 whp. So I would think if an N/T is putting down the same number or close to it, the N/T would have the advantage because of the weight and gearing depending on if it is a gst or gsx.

200 hp is definetly possible and with a deep pocket 300 is possible too thats what im aiming for and thats without turbo or nos because i personally dont like forced induction. screen name is mstcars 3 if ya want to chat about dsm.

ninja0331 is right I raced my friends heavily fixed up SI and I got off the line way faster then he did it took him to third gear to finally catch up to me but once he did there was noway of me catching up.
