3 inch turbo back? or stick with 2.5?

i am in the process of enlarging my exhast system. i heard that 3 inch all the way will give you a lot of HP. i looked on ebay and only one i could find are the 2.5 inlet then 3 inch pipe then 2.75 out. is there a 3 inch all they way? is this good or bad? i am new to dsmtuners and just got my 99 GST 2 months ago.

Plenty of sponsors sell 3" exhaust. To answer your question why buy 2.5 when later on you may need 3?

Definately 3in all the way.... You'll see alot of DSMers with ApexI N1s or a thermal exhaust. I have an RnR 3in Turboback. Great exhaust, Great Price....just be prepared to wait for quite while to get it.

i would say 3" but if you never want to go biger than the 16g 2.5 is good for it.

Only reason you would stay with a 2.5" setup is because of boost creep or spiking. I would go with 3" as long as you don't have issue's with either of them two. Are you planning on upgrading or porting you o2 housing as well? I would port the wastegate part of it and the turbo to help tone down creep and spiking.

I just put a full 3'' turbo back on my tsi awd ... i love it... and I used megan racing downpipe/ 3'' in 4'' out muffler... sounds awesome... really deep

I'm also looking for 3" turbo-back w/ 3"cat. I don't like loud bumble bee noise. Quiet as stock or close to it is ideal. Don't even like 1 big tip vs. dual stock tips are my choice.
Anyhow, sounds low and good with 3"?

Can someone direct me to vendor websites you guys bought from?
Pricing and material made(aluminized vs stainless steel), installation issues would be great. Thanks.

I would also go with 3in and you can choose the muffler of your choice.

hey guys thank you for the replies. really helped me out. i will go with the 3 inch all the way. i am in the process of upgrading to a evo 16 g or an evo 3 gt, either way, i will have my o2 housing and compressor inlet ported since i am currently getting boost creep past 23 PSI!!!! anyways, thank you again
