Ok guys, a local DSMer is parting out a 97GSX and is giving me a hell of a deal on this Dynomax 3" Exhaust. I have a few questions:

1. Will it bolt up to stock 02 housing?

2. Is it a true 3"?

3. How loud does it sound? (if you have one, you can answer this)

Thanks a lot

I don't see why it wouldnt bolt to the stock o2 housing unless the flange is different. Cant really tell if its a true 3" where the downpipe is, but it does look as if its press bent. Also, it doesn't look like it has exhaust hangers on it.

Looks like some sort of custom exhaust shop job. Dynomax makes good mufflers and the price is right.
However without a resonator in there, it's likely to be pretty loud.

Those mufflers do give a nice sound IMO. It's deep and throaty without being too loud, although it is much louder than stock of course. Can't beat it for the money for sure.:thumb:

Ya, it is a 97 GSX that a guy bought for cheap and is partin out. I first offered him 50$, thinking he was gonna respond with a 150-200$ counter but then he said "75$ and we call it a deal" and I just couldn't pass that up.

Btw, I don't see a 02 bung on there. A shop shouldn't charge more than 50$ to a put a bung on there would they? (if it dosent have one already).

Your O2 sensor is in the O2 sensor housing not the exhaust pipe. Buy that those dynomax mufflers sound amazing with a straight pipe.

The rear o2 sensor is behind where the cat would be so on this exhaust, if there is a bung it would be right after the downpipe.
