I know this has been covered before, but I am confused about something. I don't know about the 1Mohm. Is it supposed to be a resistor or a capacitor? If it is a resistor, how many Watts is it supposed to handle. I know the ~12 Ohm resistor needs to be AT LEAST 12W capable. No electronic store around sells a 1 Mohm resistor anywhere close to 12W capable. My question is does the 1 Mohm need to dissipate that much wattage and is it even a resistor? Thanks in advance for any help.

I think you need this: Resistor 1M ohm 1/2W 5% tolerance.
Bought my parts today to build the bypass.. left all the parts at work, but i can check tomorrow to be 100% sure.

Best reg.

I have read you could, but i would rather delete the thing instead. Dont wanna chance getting it caught on something or submerge it in water. But, i guess i may have to if no one knows for sure the answer. Dont wanna burn up my car because i put a resistor too weak in it.

Do you know that you can just remove the O2 sensor from the exhaust, wrap it in aluminum foil and hang it somewhere out of the way?

that's all you have to do to "trick" the CEL from coming on?? cooooool. i don't mean to pirate the thread, but about sticking in a used spark plug into the O2 hole- i heard the plug must have the inner section taken out. does it really matter? if so, how would one go about doing this?

I never heard of the spark plug trick.....so you might want to do some research.

I would just get a bolt to put in there if it were me.
