I would just like to second 98tsiawd's thread about him having to deal with Magnus' mistakes. I just recieved my 2g Magnus Intake Manifold to discover the same exact problems...No TAPPED Threads nor any fittings. Atleast 98tsiawd's throttle cable and TB holes were tapped! I had to buy 3 different taps to put threads into this intake manifold. I would expect for the Price of this manifold to have some QUALITY CONTROL!!! I atleast had some goodluck to have a friend who works at a plumbing hardware shop and was able to order the smaller 1/8npt fittings and taps.

Not to mention I bought the manifold from a very reputable shop that I have already spent close to $2,000 for a turbo kit, to only get this kind of reply - "Sorry but its a race part and we dont check them before we ship them out. They come directly from Magnus to US then to You, but we dont disturb the boxes at all".

This thread is just to inform any new purchasees that they will need to go out and find their own fittings and taps while they wait for their manifold to arrive. Don't be like the rest of us and expect anything to come with your manifold. :thumbdown

The manifold is not advertised to come with fittings, it's upto you to buy the fittings that you will need per your setup.

I used 3 x 1/8th NPT thread to 5/32nd Barbed fittings
and 1 x 1/4 NPT to large barbed fitting to fit the brake booster.

I had to chase the threads on my manifold but they were tapped. You should take the time to buy a tap and die set anyway because it will be something that you will use for the rest of your life anyway. Then you will have the tools you need to make it fit.

It is a race part so it's not supposed to be a bolt on affair. Look at my tech article about how to install the magnus intake manifold. I went though all the problems with the install as well and it's only a few things you need to play ahead for.

Smaller battery, Civic or otherwise
Intercooler pipes have to be moved
You lose your EGR and need to move all your vac lines

There are a few funny things you need to plan ahead for but they are not that bad. After your done the install you'll look back and think it wasn't that bad. I could do another one now without much problem as i know exactly what I will need and exactly what to do.

Im just letting everyone else know that if they buy one to expect these couple minor issues. Yes they are minor but they are definatly needed for installion. I was just backing up 98TSIAWD's thread because 10+ people jumped down his throat for putting down the all mighty MAGNUS MOTORSPORTS. I figured that if several people posted about this problem, magnus might start double checking their products.

And no my threads were bare, they had never even seen the edge of a tap.

Yours were just straight drilled holes, no threads at all? OMG

Yup, they were just straight drilled holes! I had quite a bit of metal shavings left after tapping all the holes.

I have DSMLINK so all the emissions and sensor issues dont affect me, just disable them and never worry about them again  Plus having your battery relocated to the trunk takes away alot of the hassle with the UIC and cruise control relocation.

Did anyone have issues with the upper heater core coolant hose coming from the firewall to the water pipe?

No problems with the water pipe at all in my situation.

So basically what your saying is you have to tap 4 holes on your manifold over and above what everybody else has had to do? Thats no too bad. None of them come with fittings because who knows what fittings you will need, I wouldn't include them either.

You can run a civic batter under the hood if you want to keep it there it will fit no problems with the upper intercooler pipe.

No absolutly NONE of the holes in the manifold were tapped. The 4 for the TB, 2 for the throttle cable, and 4 for the pressure fittings. Once again i did say these were MINOR adjustments, just im informing everyone that they MIGHT have to do these. My battery has been relocated to the back for over 6mths so i doubt i will be swtiching back to a batery in the engine bay, much less BS to worry about.

*I am by no way putting magnus down at all, they are a major contributor to the DSM performance world and always will be. Their manifold is a work of art and once fully on will yield me quite a bit extra HP/TQ.*
