Resolved 2G Turn signal issues

I'm having a weird problem with my drivers rear turn signal not working. I had my flashers on to test for power in the back and sure enough I have no power. It's also blinking fast which makes sense. Is it a relay behind the radio that causes this or is it an actual module? My passenger side works perfect and all brake lights work its just the drivers rear signal. I've found similar issues but none of them had exactly what I'm experiencing.

No power as in you actually measured voltage at the harness? Or the bulb isn't flashing?

I measured voltage and there's no power. It's only at the turn signal though. I have brake lights and running lights.

I guess I spoke to soon the other side flashes fast too but all lights work on that side. I'm a little confused now.

Well I swapped the flasher module with my other car and it works but now both sides just flash fast. Am I missing something? If I don't have the little bulbs on the sides of the bumper hooked up would that cause this? Someone snipped those right off.

Yes that's a high probability.

On an analog system that these cars use, if there is not enough resistance, the bulbs will flash faster. The side marker lights add to your resistance so they will help.

You can’t just substitute led bulbs or else their lack of resistance will result in fast flashing.

Turn signals work in reverse: the power to the bulbs is constant and the flashing is controlled on the grounding side.

Alright well that would make sense then. I have all factory bulbs so it has to be those bumper lights. First time I've ever dealt with a bad module.

Alright I'm back with the same issue except now both sides blink fast. I changed all the bulbs with new ones and both sides flash fast. I looked at all the bulbs and they all work so I'm kind of at a loss now. I replaced the module with a know good working one so I don't know what to check next.

Well I figured it out It was the ground wire that grounds to the bulb housing. I don't know how I missed that but it all works normal again.

I was going to say it’s definitely not the bumper lights. Mine aren’t hooked up (I think it looks better without them on) and have no issues with my signals.

Yeah I was going to say my other eclipse has them unplugged and they don't flash fast. Dang I was chasing my tail swapping bulbs and what not.
