I've been having very strange problems with my turn signals and especially lately. To make it short:

-Hazards work just fine. Perfect speed, etc.

-Front turn signals sometimes don't work with the parking/headlights on. If this is the case, it won't even flash, it'll just be a solid light when you flip the switch until you turn it off. Doesn't illuminate outside the vehicle. Yesterday it was the right turn signal, day before it was the left turn signal.

-Turning the temperature knob on the HVAC unit towards hot will actually engage a random turn signal. Sometimes right, sometimes left. :ohdamn:

-I have Piranha LED bulbs for taillights from SharpHID.com with no resistors, so yes of course it hyper-flashes. The part where it won't even flash didn't start until I installed these. Could they be suspect since they haven't had load resistors properly installed yet?

I am putting this information up for anybody who may have the same problem in the future.

After reading a lot and researching, I came across
Eclipse 2G Turn Signal Flasher Mod.
which is azdave's page, describing how he modified the flasher unit to blink at normal speed. Since resistors are not cheap and I was not going to take a chance on getting the wrong ones I decided to try this mod. After a few attempts with 14 gauge wire (smallest I had), The correct length I used actually was around 34 inches. You want to use as small of a wire as possible without burning it up. The smaller the wire, the more resistance.

The reason my flashers were in-op when I tried to turn right is because my front right bulb is completely out. That, coupled with my piranha LED tail bulbs, caused there to be nearly no resistance in the circuit and instead of "hyper flashing" it would remain still and not operate.

Dave, if you ever make your way into this thread, thanks for the help you didn't even know you were giving me!

Also, while back there, I noticed the cord on the temperature knob was pulling on various wires. After moving them out of the way my problem no longer exists!
