2G throttle body/cable problem

Here are some pictures.....is this the proper way to hook er' up?

I think the cable might be screwed, as I cannot get it to return to closed throttle properly after giving it some "gas" or throttle.

there is a slit that the cable runs down on the throttle body. did you make sure the cable was runt hrough there, and it was properly installed. check the adjustment on the cable also make sure its not too tight.

So there is a "slit" on the throttle body, or is the "slit" on the gold colored arm where the cable end goes into?

Here is a picture of the throttle cable bracket (black). The end slides in the hole on the end and the cable runs in the U-shaped "channel" that goes away from the hole.

Damn...yea I have it hooked up exactly like that.

No matter how tight i make it with the 2 10mm bolts on the intake.......the cable just doesn't want to return properly. I'll snap some more pics here in a sec when i go out to work on it.

It's not how tight the bolts are on the intake manifold. Those bolts are only used to hold the bracket in place. BUT the bracket needs to be adjusted properly before being bolted down. Loosen both of those bolts and then let the cable line have some slack. Then start pulling the bracket away from the throttle body until the cable bracket starts to move. Then find the point where it has tension on it, but the bracket did not move and tighten down the bolts.

Do you still have cruise control, as this might be causing an issue.

Yes I do still have cruise.........damn. How do I check the pulleys in that black box with both the throttle and cruise cables?

Do you want to just delete the cruise?

It's not a fun thing to try and fix. Here's a thread that might help.

You might also want to take your throttle body elbow off and look into the throttle body. Then you can open/close it (using the cable bracket) while looking in on it to see if you notice anything.

Deleting cruise fixed my throttle problem with a stuck cable...I picked it up pretty cheap at stm. Clears up some space too

The angle of the cable in that top pic doesnt look right. Could you snap a pick from atop the manifold it looks like the cable isnt sitting right?

To me it appears that the adjustment tab for the cable is not properly bolted down, causing the cable to be pushed towards the firewall. Take a picture from the top of the manifold looking down on the throttlebody and about a foot after the TB.

Some big time Chrysler guys a few hangars down like my "Hemi" ...so they're going to help me try and figure it out.

You should see their beast....900 HP 500cu in Aluminum motor...nasty!

Fixed it!.....Spring wasn't tensioned properly. I wound it around 1 more time.

Damn I suck..haha.

Bad news.....my f-ing waterpipe is dripping coolant slightly
