2G talon TSI

I bought a 95 talon tsi a while back, and have been wanting to upgrade it. As of now, the previous owner installed an Apexi boost controller, had the car lowered (which really sucks here), and im not even sure if its still stock turbo.

I have been looking at trying to get a FMIC and upgrade the turbo to a td06 20g. what else needs to be upgraded for this? I tried looking at other turbos for a smaller upgrade, but all I could get was the 20g. Did the fuel injectors/pump need to be upgraded also?

I had an HSK ssqv installed about a month after since i found out the stock one was leaking. I also had a stage 1 clutch installed because one of my friends burned the hell out of the stock one trying to 'learn' to drive m/t.

And pretty much off topic, I have been looking everywhere to find a cap for the windshield washer fluid reservoir. I cant find anything. Anyone know a place where i can get one? Right now i just have a wadded up paper towel covering it to keep the nasties out when it rains/snows here.

Well, if you look at my location, Im not in the states. Talons/Eclipses arent really that common enough here to be able to find in a junkyard. Thats why I was hoping someone had a link if possible.

To quickly answer your "what else has to be done to run a 20g?"
650cc+ Fuel Injectors, 255 Fuel Pump, AFPR, Tuning Device, and im hoping that you already have an accurate boost controller.
Besides all that, dont push boost beyond 20psi on that 20g or it will be time to be thinking bottom end.

If I were you I would look for a 16g instead of a 20g because of the lack of supporting mods. Even with the 16g youd still want some 650s with some kind of tuning device, (SAFC would work) fuel pump and a boost controller at least. As far as the cap, you could most likely find one on ebay.

Thanks for the help so far, always wanted a DSM, and now that i have one, Im stumped on what to do for mods.

@AjWit- I kind of figured the injectors and pump from research, but whats an AFPR? And for the tuning device, anything specifically? I have a boost controller, but not sure how to set it up. Its an Apexi, and its display is set to where it shows boost, but in mm. I dont plan on doing any really heavy mods. Its hard enough to get parts here as it is.

@crash89- Why a 16g? I know you mentioned because of a lack of mods, but i looked it up, and it seemed to be the best bet because it doesnt 'creep' like other turbos i looked at. Also, i checked ebay for the cap, couldnt find anything. Even google came up blank. What type of 16g would you recommend? Super 16g?

AFPR - adjustable fuel pressure regulator. it's needed when you run a larger pump, like the 255. You can run a 190 pump without one; and a 190 is suffieicent enough for a 16g.

The best 16g "for the buck" imo is the Evo 3 16g; but beware of the fake ones that flood ebay. Make sure it's a real mitsubishi one. There's a chart somewhere that shows all the part numbers of the real mitsu turbos. Generally, the compressor housing will say "TD05H" on it too if its real. (correct me if i am wrong!) This turbo would be good for you since you don't plan on doing to much to the car. They spool up quick and make a fun street turbo. Remember, the larger the turbo, more lag you'll see.

Lets say i did get the evo 16g, would it still be good in the long run to get the pump, regulator and injectors? I might plan to upgrade it in the future. Main question is, would it affect performance if i did get all of it with the 16g? I was looking at a FMIC that came as a set with the super 20g which is why i was asking. And i had planned on getting the pump, regulator and injectors along side of it.

I would really like a body kit, but shipping costs more than the kits

Also, does anyone know if the windshield washer caps on the GS/RS eclipses are interchangable with the GST/GSX's? I thought the filler was in the front for GS/RS and its in the back under the hatch for GST/GSX's. Trying to carify. I had a GS a while back, but dont remember.

I would also recommend a datalogger of some sort, and a wideband O2 sensor.

@dabishop1983- Thanks for the link! That basically answered 80% of my questions. Although the one you gave was for 1G and i have 2G, thats fine, i just checked the 2G stuff.

@Code504- I know it sounds stupid, but I live in Korea, and during monsoon season, the last thing i want in my washer is a bunch of nasty junk. I did find a place that has one. Now i just need to find out if they deliver to APO AP address.
