I have 2 95 Talon TSi AWDs:talon:. I got both of them for free from my mechanic in September 09. :thumb: They both came in excellent shape although one had a little body damage so i decided to build the green one up and use the white one for parts. Currently neither of them are running. i was planning to rebuild the 7 bolt block one of them came with but a friend of mine sold me his 90 GS-T. Cha-ching did i hear 6 bolt rebuild? :DWell his motor has already been rebuilt and only needed a new head gasket and timing belt but other than that the 6 bolt has less than 5k on it. So right now im eagerly awaiting Christmas for any money i might get LOL because we all know how expensive DSMLINK is.

Right now to help me finish this 6 bolt swap i need:
HKS Timing belt
ARP head studs
DSMLINK v2/v3
Eprom ECU socketed + Keydiver chip

Things I have:
Evo3 Big 16g
550 Injectors
Original Burschur racing FMIC ($1,200 back in the day)
HKS SSQV II
GM MAFT Blow Thu Setup + GM LS1 MAF Sensor
3" Turbo back Magnaflow straight piping exhaust + Test Pipe ;]
3 bar 2.5" Reach Aluminum radiator
Complete head rebuild with revised BC springs and retainers
Injen intake with conical air filter

Im pretty excited for this build and i've been buying piece by piece as i've come along them and if anyone can tell me the type of horse power i can expect from the build im doing with the parts i have i'd greatly appreciate it. Im thinking at least 300? maybe more?

300 is a realistic goal...
in building a friends car, 96 talon awd, which before had the same setup(different brand names) we were able to put down 289hp. pump gas.
please keep in mind that in el paso we only have 91 octane as premium fuel.
pushing 18lbs i believe on a manual boost controller(turbo xs) on a dyno jet awd dyno from the dyno shack here locally...
several things would move his car and yours forward...
a good set of cams(he ordered bc 272) and a stronger clutch(his started to slip after the dyno). you didnt mention either of these two things, also with the dsm link your able to rev a little higher and lets not forget race gas.(thu he doesnt want it yet, the car is still a street car with stock internals). he doesnt want race gas til income tax season when he is planning to forge the bottom end. the 6bolt is and awsome choice though and in a perfect world forged internals for dsms would be free. however, they are not.

oh im sorry i also forgot to mention i have a 12lb flywheel and stage 2 ACT clutch setup. also i have Unorthodox racing under drive pulleys for the Crank and power steering. ill probably be running 91 or 93 pump gas. and i was looking into some HKS 272's. any other ideas?

i know that ive read on here somewhere that bc cams fail.
locally (including myself) we by in large like the bc cams, have had no fitment issues, no belt problems, and give great power.
plus the major plus is that they about 200.00 cheaper than hks. not knocking hks cams or those that support them but to save 200.00 on a build is great help.

stick with the oem piece hb

okay so keep the OEM HB right? ill have to swap it back but im fine with that. also if anyone wants to throw in their 2 cents on this but would you guys recommend a BSE kit for $50 and completely eliminate the future break of the belt and causing my timing belt to snap and bend some valves? or pay $50 for the HKS BS kevlar reinforced belt that isnt gonna break in the lifetime that ill probably have the car? i just need opinions on the best way to spend $50 on solving this issue LOL.

I did the 6bolt swap on my 95 talon and am wondering if you are supposed to run a 2g thermostat or a 1g, or if there is any difference whatsoever.

They pretty much do the same thing.
BUT
You use the 1G thermostat, where it sandwiches between top and bottom of the housing. The 2G thermo. is in a different place and much bigger!

Do Not go with anything other then KELFORDS they are the best on the market no doubt HKS's are not worth the money for the little power gains you will get with the supporting mods plus the Kelfords are much cheaper!

Thanks. I was doing some research yesterday and the 1g thermo is set at 192degrees and the 2g at 180 so im just gonna buy a 1g 180degree thermo
