Resolved 2G Stock PSI Gauge?

I did a quick search and didn't find what I was looking for...

Since the geniuses at Mitsubishi felt it wasn't necessary to put numbers on the stock boost gauge, and it'll be a few weeks till I can afford to get one...I'd like to know where about the stock gauge lines on a 99 GST represent in PSI. Just as a reference point. I know what they boost stock, thats not what I'm asking. When I look at my numberless stock gauge and the needle is halfway between the top and the halfway point of the gauge...approx what psi would a numbered psi gauge be showing? etc..etc..

They don't present any real numbers. The ecu bases the stock boost gauge off a load factor and then guesses at what the car should be at. Don't touch/modify it until you have a real boost gauge.

Agreed - the stock setup doesn't measure anything. It's about as useful as a A/F gauge without a wideband.

Exactly
It is just an ESTIMATION determined from load and airflow and is just an electrical signal. You need an aftermarket mechanical boost guage to tell EXACTLY what your boost pressure is.

Wasn't planning to mod without a proper gauge, but like my VR4 gauge had -7 to 0 to +7 to +14. So figged maybe they incorporated a similar setup, EVEN THOUGH the VR4 gauge was usually 1-2 psi off...

DSMLink can turn that gauge to whatever you want . I use it for battery voltage. That's how useless it is.

And I agree, aftermarket gauge. If you go within budget will still be +/- 1psi.
