2g seat belts in a 1gb

just thought i would post a pic of my 1g with 2g seat belts, it was nice and ez job, everything bolted up and i saved about 25lbs, and the dumb auto belts are gone.

well im gutted from front seats back, so it was super ez, but i feel if you drilled some holes you could make it look stock.

This is excellent news!

I can tell you that the Canadian seat belts ARE NOT the way to go, they are crap. Have owned 5 Canadian 1Gs and only 2 of them had decently working belts, and even they weren't that great. The coils inside the retractors wear out and the belts do not return to the completely retracted position. They mostly just hang loose and I often see part of the belt sticking out of the bottom of the door when I return to the car. When sitting in the seat you need to pull the damn belt several times before it retracts enough to tighten up.

I've owned one 2G and those belts always worked properly. My concern is will the 2G belts fit with the 1G interior trim?

Try to find az EDM model in europe. but the postal service will horrible

That stuff weighed about 25lbs..Dammm.That's crazy.But then how would you make it look stock, with an interior on the car.1g auto seat belt cars have a slot in the A pillar.

I want to do this. Do you use factory mounting points or did you just find the nearest places to bolt these in? I want to make sure If there is an accident those mounting points will hold up. Also do you need the bottom belt too?

I bolted the 2g seats belts in my 1g using all existing factory mounting points. The retractor assembly bolts into a factory cutout and 17mm bolt in the b pillar. The lap belt bolts into the front hole on the side frame rail where the lap belt retractor was. The shoulder swivel likewise bolts into an existing hole in the b pilar.

So everything is a bolt-in to existing mounting points.
