just a quick question, does anyone know if the mivec (intake)cam position sensor housing gasket on the Evo IX is the same as the cam position sensor housing gasket on a 2G DSM? (exhaust)

The Mivec (intake on Evo IX) sensor gasket is not the same as the cam position sensor (intake) on a 97-99 DSM. The cam position sensor (exhaust) on the Evo IX, however, share the same gasket as the 97-99 DSM cam position sensor. Part Number: MD329503

ok so the mivec intake and the exhaust are not the same in the evo IX, but the exhaust side on evo IX is the same as the exhaust on 2G? is that correct?

The cam position sensor is on the intake side on the 97-99 DSM. On the Evo IX, it is located on the exhaust side. For reference, in the attached diagram, I am referring to item 01226. This gasket is shared with a 97-99 4g63T DSM.

FYI all of this can be cross referenced with the dealer parts software Mitsubishi ASA

ok makes sence now..so 01226 is not the same as 01226p in the diagram above, and 01226 WILL work on both dsm as well as Evo. couldnt find any dimensions on them but saw an 8 dollar difference between the 2. thanks alot for the clarity and again y'all are awesome!

If there is a price difference there is a part number difference
