hello everyone, so i went to start my car today after a fresh build , it started right up and sounded great, i went to give the car a little gas and the rpm gauge went crazy reading well over redline and moving all over the place, it compleatly normal in dsm link, i know link gets its rpm signal from the cas, and the tac get is signal from the ignition control module , so bacically what im asking is there a reason why the module would just randomly go bad ? and now the car runs like crap and wount stay running , any ideas guys ?

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/413439-rpm-gauge-problems.html i read this first and a few other ones in just wounder why my module would just go bad .

The only time I've had the gauge go nuts was when my speed sensor harness was loose. This is the harness at the transmission near the rear motor mount.

Check to make sure the ICM is fully plugged in and clean. I would have somewhere like Oreilly's test it before replacing it. But yes, it's possible for it to just go bad out of the blue.

thanks for the help guys:thumb: it ended up being the icm plug, i unpluged it and cleaned the contacts and now it works great thanks again :hellyeah:

Same thing happend to me before, popped it off and reconnected it and it was good. I also hate it when the speedo pops off under boost and your mph stops works and have to pull over every few miles so you know how fast your going. The dam clip broke off it that was fun too.
