Alright everyone this works, sorry no pics. After replacing my drip rails due to paint delamination I decided I wanted my 1/4 window moldings to match. My 1/4 window moldings were definatly molding, looked like mildew or severe water spots that wouldn't clean off.

So here is what I did. Get some 400 grit wet sand paper and in the same motion/direction start sanding the moldings. I would recommend taping off the body and glass if you don't have a very steady hand. I used water in a spray bottle to keep the paper lubed and clean while sanding. Just keep the moldings and sand paper wet periodically wiping the area of the molding you are sanding and you'll start to see the mildew disappear.

I don't know if this is a problem in all areas, with the moldings I mean, but if yours look that way this process does Work. I am not gonna lie it'll take some time and you forearms will be sore but the rewards are worth the pain.

or you can wet sand with 1500 sand paper and buff! they come out all shiny and new :D

Another method - believe it or not it DOES work - is acetone on a rag. Don't soak it and use it in short strokes at a time, wiping very quickly and press hard. Turn and/or use a fresh, clean rag frequently, adding acetone a little at a time. The acetone evaporates super fast. If you are worried about screwing it up go to a junk yard and try it on a dead car's moulding first.

My quarter glass moulding and the belt mouldings just above the door at the bottom of the glass were molding up and looked like crap. The acetone method has made them look close to brand new again, and its been a couple months now and they still look great.
