so I've decided to keep my car and instead of junking it I'm going to be rebuilding it and de-ricing. I blew a head gasket and so I've decided to just completely rebuild the motor. I've already ordered parts and started taking apart the motor. I figured I'd make a build thread on here so if I ran into any problems I could have somewhere to ask my questions. I will try to post lots of pics.. wish me luck.

this is what it got towed into the back yard as...

Hope to have the motor out sometime this weekend.

If anyone had any advice also that'd be greatly appreciated... things I might run into. My goals for this car isn't power if I needed that I'd get a gsx. I just want a nice, solid, dependable daily that looks clean. Most the parts I've ordered and are going to order are just OE spec but still should be fun.

i agree with fotown :) your car's not to ricey, just make sure you follow the specs as perfectly as possible, i found that out the hard way LOL good luck with the build

thanks guys, yeah I dont' think it's THAT bad but I do love the OEM look. I just took that kit off today. I also got tired of rocking my torn seats with seat covers so I got some leather gsx seats today

That is alot of wire that was just sitting around. If I had to take a guess, most of it came from a stereo system that was probably just ripped out

Damn, your coolant nasty. I'll have make note of this thread.

Link Fotown posted is great and also, check out threads there a write up discussion how to fix leaking HG.

leaking

looking at that coolant/oil, its either a really jacked up head gasket or something is cracked (head/block)

haha yeah stereo system, interior lighting, ps2, power inverter, etc. useless crap.
