Full story; alternator began to die (tested and it wasn’t putting out enough voltage) so I was charging the battery all the time before getting it to my friends house where we were going to change the alternator. When I took off the battery cables before doing the job I arced the positive cable on the car and it shot out some sparks.
After the alternator was installed I went to start it and it only turns over. Got it brought to the mechanic and they checked the cam sensor and some other sensors that they said were all fine, and told me it was probably the crankshaft position sensor or the ecu.
I put in a new ecu and did the key dance and I got codes; 11, 32, 45 (Asides from 12 & 55). I replaced the crank sensor and code 11 went away but still no start. I got 2 new relays for the ASD and MFI, switched those out and nothing, the connectors looked pretty bad too so got new pigtails and spliced on the new connectors but code 42 is still on and the car still doesn’t start.
After I disconnect the battery ground there’s no codes and the fuel pump primes, but after the first crank, it’s back to shutdown mode. No fuel or spark and codes 42 and 35. I even replaced the fan relays but code 35 is still there.
Could the original arc have shorted a fuse that would cause this shutdown? (Visually they’re all good). What activates the ASD relay that I can check? I appreciate any ideas cause I’ve tried everything I can think of.
