Like the title says, I am looking for some help on how to pull the motor. I searched some other threads and found nothing useful. If somebody has some pictures that would be nice. Otherwise any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Yes take the motor and tranny as a whole unit you will thank yourself in the long run. Other than that just pull the harness, remove ac lines, axles, drive shaft (if equipped), coolant lines, shift cable, motor mounts and lift away! I may have missed a step but you get the idea.

I found taking the head off first then pulling the block with tranny went the fastes for me. I have done it all put together as well but it was so much faster & easier to get to all the mount bolts with the head off. Easier to wiggle it out as well. IMO

In my 2g dropping the tranny then pulling the motor seemed a lot easier for me. 2GDSM-OWNER Just follow the guides in the tech article section and the vfaq guide and a haynes manual from your local autozone. All three of those resources should help/explain a lot.

Thats all I used when I pulled/dissembled my motor for the first time. Have any question just post in this thread.

I have the Haynes manual, but the thing is, my car is a 1998 GS but it has the 6-bolt GST swap, so the transmission mounts are going to be different than what they are telling me correct?

WTF

Edit: nvm I see you have a spyder. They engine and transmission mounts are the same. You pull your engine just like any othe 2g 4g63 owner would.

I just removed my engine and installed a new one a few months ago strictly using VFAQ and prior knowledge from my dad. Its a lot easier taking it out with the transmission connected to the engine. Just make sure you label EVERYTHING.

I don't know if it has been said before but I downloaded the PDF's online for the mech and electricals. Things that I learned was the hardest to do with re install is not knowing what hooks up where. The fix was to label all of my connections. I got baggies for all my hardware and used the color dot sticky things on both the bag and the place in the engine it came from so I knew which hardware belonged to what component. I agree with the others on removing the tranny attached to the motor.
