Hello everyone. I am going to pull the motor in the next 2-3 weeks. I noticed on my motor it doesnt have any of the engine lifting brackets anymore. I'm trying to get ahold of a set to make sure I am able to pull the motor using the proper aid to support the whole motor. I was wondering if for some reason I am not able to get ahold of one what areas can I use to hook up to the hoist to pull the motor. I know it's not a good idea anywhere a bolt that is attached to aluminum due to not being strong enough to support the engine weight. I need to make sure where to attach the hoist chain to, I dont want to screw anything up. Thanks.

If you can get the chain around the mount mount support on the drivers side, you could use that. As for the passenger side, i dont know.

If you notice the motor mount on he driver side, it attaches to the front of the motor. Putting chains in this spot held down with washers and and nus will, do the trick. Im going to try and find a picture for you on here. You would of course need to drop the tranny before hand.

Thanks. On my 94 gs I still have the front engine hanger, I can pull that off I suppose. Now I am just missing the intake side bracket. Since my talon has an evo III manifold, the bolt hole side of mani is thicker that might be a problem lining it up to ps bracket bolt as far as the engine bracket. Any other suggestions?

The second picture isn't very clear, but it seems like it is hooked up to something that is on the head. Being on aluminum isnt that not a good idea, it might not be able to support the weight of the motor and tranny. Any other suggestions and pictures. Please clear pictures. The suggestions and pictures are great, keep them coming. Thanks.

Right on! That is exactly what I am looking for. Both sides clear enough to see where chain is attachted to. What do you think about this part of motor. Cast metal that is attached to throttle body and head. Is it strong enough to hold the motor or is it a weak point and a bad idea. Thanks.

Thats what its there for, and keeping the intake from rocking when under load. You could hook it to one of the bolts of the tranny like he did. Nice looking engine btw whitedawg. I like the labeling packinkimber45 :thumb:

Thank you. I ran out of labels so I had to use masking tape for the rest. Lol. I guess I dont need that other mount after all. You think it's possible for that area to give since it is bolted to aluminum material? Is using the tranny side bolt better? I just cant afford for anything to give. Motor is pretty heavy I assume that is why I am concerned about using that area. Thanks again.

the factory lift points are bolted into the head. I have always used head locations to lift from....
