Toronto,Scarborough,
I have this guy that crashed his 98 eclipse and i was wondering if i could use his 7 bolt motor in my 1g? What are some of the big differences (if any) in sensors and just all round wiring? and my plan would be to strip the block and put in 6 bolt internals rods, crank, and pistons is the design and structure of the block the same such as the front case, oil pump, water pump? Could i just take out the internals from the 7bolt block and put in 6bolt internals?

Any help is much apreciated thanks:thumb:

My first question would be why a 7 bolt (other then highper compression/lighter rods)?

Second, I believe another big difference between a 6 bolt and 7 bolt is the inverted CAS.

The only reason im even thinking of doing this is because i can get the motor for cheap. But im not going to do it with 7bolt internals it would be a 6 bolt just wondering if this motor is worth it for me to buy?Could i use the head or is the cam angle sensor different and can i use the intake mani are are the sensors the same up top knock, ips, tps? is it mostly the block thats different?

Intake mani is different, so is the head, and sensors, and block...
..and the TB is smaller oh yea...and chance of crankwalk.

You can get another 6 bolt motor for like $300 if you shop around
