2g mas wiring diagram?

I'm in the process of putting my GM MAFT on, and it was originally a 1G maft, meaning I had to cut the plug off, and will have to splice it with the correct wires on the 2g mas harness. Does anyone have a wiring diagram/ know of a wiring diagram that tells what wire is what on the 2g harness, or even has a very good top down shot of a MAFT setup on a 2g where the maft harness meets the original 2g mas harness?

Any help is much appreciated!

There are plenty of posts here on how to graft a 2G MAF to a 1G harness, what your asking is the same basic question looked at from a different angle.

Steve the guy above me made this so props to him. It helped us alot but searching is your friend.


Pin 1 on the 2G connector goes to the green/red wire that was pin 4 on the 1G harness.
Pin 2 on the 2G connector goes to the green/yellow wire that was pin 7 on the 1G harness.
Pin 3 on the 2G connector goes to the green/blue wire that was pin 2 on the 1G harness.
Pin 4 on the 2G connector goes to the red wire that was pin 3 on the 1G harness.
Pin 5 on the 2G connector goes to the green/black wire that was pin 6 on the 1G harness.
Pin 6 on the 2G connector goes to the green/orange wire that was pin 8 on the 1G harness.
Pin 7 on the 2G connector goes to the green/white wire that was pin 1 on the 1G harness.
Pin 8 on the 2G connector has nothing

The problem steve, is that even at this angle, I'm not quite sure how to go about it.

I have a MAFT translator that has 1 connector, which goes to the GM sensor. All the other wires that used to go to another connector are cut. Whoever owned it before me obviously used it on a 2g, as he spliced them. The problem I'm having, is I don't know which wire connects to what.


So far this is what I know.

2g mas harness (found from vfaq)

Pin/Color/ Function

1 - GY - 5v Power (this is really only 5v???)
2 - O - Barometric Pressure
3 - LY - Airflow Sensor
4 - R - MPI relay
5 - B - Ground
6 - RL - Intake Air Temp
7 - RW Volume Air flow Sensor Reset Signal
8 - Not Used

MAFT

To MAF Sensor
Pink = +12v
Yellow = MAF frequency signal
Black = Ground
(this still has the plug, so these are obvious)

Pink = +12v (I assume this would go to pin 1)
Green = Translator Frequency Signal
Black = Ground (goes to other black)
Brown = Air Temp Signal (goes to RL Pin 6)
Gray = Barometric Pressure (goes to O pin 2)
White = RPM Signal (goes to ECU)
Purple = ????

I have pins 3, 4, and 7 unaccounted for, and don't want to wire them up wrong, which is why I was asking if anyone had a top down picture of theirs hooked up using the actual plug, or if someone actually knows how it wires up.

I'll check fullthrottles forums, as I didn't think to check there, but if anyone can help with the last little bit, or confirm what I've got so far, I'd be thankful.

Alright, got it from the guys at full throttle.

In case this ever comes up again here, here is how it's wired.

To MAF Sensor
Pink = +12v
Yellow = MAF frequency signal
Black = Ground

From translator to harness

Pink = +12v (to Pin 4)
Green = Translator Frequency Signal (to Pin 3)
Black = Ground (to Pin 5)
Brown = Air Temp Signal (to Pin 6)
Gray = Barometric Pressure (to pin 2)
White = RPM Signal (goes to ECU pin 58)
Purple = ???? (Not sure, but it doesn't need to be wired. From what I gathered, this was mainly for if you were running NOS or Methanal)

Wires from Pin's 1, and 7 are not used.

What color does RL and LY Stand for?
Kind of confused where green and brown wires go.

Need remember VFAQ is a DSM's best friend. Try this it has wire colors as well. 2G MAF in a 1G TEL/GVR4
