I just got done installing a 2g mas into my 93 eclipse gsx. When the MAS is plugged in im reading 18% throttle on my safc II, when it is unplugged im reading 100% ??? It runs completly rich, backfiring, wideband pegged rich. I was thinking it could be my tps, but how could installing a 2g mas immediatly mess up my tps. It sorta runs decent under boost, but when I shift I will touch the throttle and nothing will happen...

Thanks,
Kyle

I did all the wiring over again, and got a 2g mas plug. Now my car wont even start. I unplug the mas and it still wont start. I have good fuel pressure. I started wiring it up today and before it would start, but not now. My safc wont turn on now either? Did I fry something?

Thanks,
Kyle

Ok, I rechecked the wiring and it should be ok. I checked 2 different sources and it should be ok. Replaced the MPI fuse and now it starts :D. The thing is that at idle with the MAS plugged in it is showing on my SAFC 17.4% throttle. When the MAS is unplugged it shows up as 100% and barely runs. With the tps unplugged it goes back to 0%. When it is idling with the MAS plugged in I'll tap the throttle and it will just stall. I'll try to rev it up and it wont go past like 3500rpm. Could my TPS be bad? It is just wierd since all of these problems are happening after I did the 2g mas install.

Thanks,
Kyle

I followed this wiring diagram...

I used this diagram. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/2GMAF-1G.html

According to this, using the same pic you have, from left to right should be:
1-GW
2-GL
3-R
4-GR
5-NOT USED
6-GB
7-GY
8-GO

You sure? That looks a lot like the stock 1G MAF pin order.

I swapped in another used TPS and it didn't change anything. I looked on my SAFC and it said my TPS volts was 5.115v not touching the throttle and when I floored it it went to 5.075V, but the throttle position stayed at 100%. Now, I was thinking something was messed up with my ECU?

Unplug the TPS and measure the resistance between 1 and 4. Then measure the resistance between 1 and 2 as you move the throttle.
Make sure at the harness that pin 4 is grounded and that pin 1 has no more than 5v when the ECU is on.
Something was messed up when you blew the MPI fuse. I still think you have wires mixed up somewhere but right now I can't tell you where.

At the 2G MAF connector you should have 12v on pin 4, 5v at pin 1, and ground at pin 5. If you can check those while the MAF is plugged in even better.

i agree with it sounds like you hooked up some wires incorrectly, just did mine and it works perfect, i just did it one wire at a time in order from 1-8 on the 1g plug and soldered the wires accordingly to the 2g plug. PM me if you want ill check my car and tell you the exact order of the wires

Steve, Everything is perfect with the MAS, Ground on Pin#5, 12v on Pin#4 and 5v on Pin#1 (This is from the plug). A storm just came in the area and I didnt have time to measure the TPS resistance. Throttle is still at 100%.

I tested the resistance between #1 and #2 and at idle it was at 4.4k and full throttle it was at .05k. And yeah, I could move the TPS and at idle the resistance and full throttle would go up. I think I measured it at a different position and it was 5k at idle and like .5k at full throttle. Could ECU be fried? I was thinking of swapping in another one.

I swapped in my old 1g mas, and it didnt do anything. So then I put in the other ECU and MAGIC! It works again. The SAFC shows 0% throttle and it runs! Thanks for all of you guys' help.

Thanks again,
Kyle
