2g MAFT in 1g question

Typically Search is my friend, till now. I purchased a MAFT for a 2G, along with a GM MAF. I own a 1G. Obviously the plugs are different. Is there a wiring diagram anywhere to show what goes where? Meaning of the seven wires on the 1G plug what gets connected to the five going into the MAFT?
 
Seems easier to find exactly what you need online, or ebay, and sell what you dont need. Sell the 2g, and find a 1g. not much online with wiring, maybe, pm steve here.
 
I havent seen anything like that, just an idea to find one in classifieds, to me it seems like some work, to find the wiring set up you want, good luck ,lots of mafs for sale if you choose to go that way, curious to why you bought a 2g for your 1g set up.

A guy on my local forum sold the MAF, Translator, K&N, Dejon Intake pipe, and a Boost Controller for $80.00. I couldn't pass it up. Especially since my car is all apart right now getting a new Turbo.
 
The settings will be kind of off on it compared to a 1g translator. The 2g translator is designed to make the gm maf emulate the 2g sensor with all settings zero'd out. The 1g translator is designed to emulate the 1g sensor. It will be about like putting a 2g maf on a 1g with the settings zero'd out. You will have to add some fuel if you are on stock injectors.
 
So why not buy a 1g to a 2g Maf plug? Seems pretty easy to me.

No it'll have the old 660's from my Summit. Realisticly I could duplicate the SD setup from that car, but its a little over the top for this one.

As a side note, between Vfaq, both sets of instructions, I did figure out what's what. I needed to sit and look at it for more than two seconds. I'll post the results after I get the car back together, and the resulting engine failure later.


Open up the MAFt and see which chip version you have. The older versions, like 1.3, are generation specific. The newer version 2.01 is interchangeable between 1g/2g... You can also order the 2.01 chip if you do have an older v1.3 chip.

But try searching some keywords with my username(my posts) I've posted at least once how to wire it up like this..

but like said above your just making it wired in like a 2g maf to 1g maf harness though there are some things to take into consideration being its going to be emulating a 2g maf.

I wouldn't think the emulation would be all that different between the two. With as many people have gone to a 2G MAF with only a little fiddling of the Fuel Trims.

The difference between the two is more then most realize and it's by no means linear... .

Here is the 2g maf in 1g write up for how to wire it in...

Orange/Green ---> Red/black
Yelloq/Green ---> Pink
Black/Green ---> Black
Red/Green ---> Grey
Red ---> Red
Green ---> White/Black
White/Green ----> Blue
 
As Bob said here, v2.01 is compatible with 1g's and 2g's. Set your dip switches according the the product manual.
2g Maft in a 1g - Full Throttle Speed Tech Support

I have run a 2g maft v2.01 on a 1g this way for years... With that being said, I'd tune SD and Mitsu maf cars over MAFT cars with GM mafs any day.

It was/is a pretty steep learning curve on my Summit. The code was written by the tuner, so along the way I have been picking his brain as well learning what I can on my own. All done through Tuner Pro, with an Ostrich.

My bad was on my phone the first time and missed that he said it had the 2.01 Chip


At least it isn't a thread about wings and 20" wheels.:D
