Im currently running the 2g maf now but, Ive been thinking of going to the 3" gm maf. Questions are, what are the advantages and disadvantages if i upgrade? Would i have to do any other upgrades besides the the intake pipe and maft? What should i expect from the upgrade? Would it be worth it with the mods i currently have done to the car? View my profile if you wish to see my mods. I dont know whole lot bout running the gm maf, all i know is it makes it easier to tune and your able to run the bov to atmosphere but im looking for more than that. So if anyone can shed some light on this and give me some opinions and suggestions that would be awesome. Maybe a wiseman can help? :talon:

i dont have a GM maf myself, but i know you dont even have to run an intake pipe if u dont want too, just stick a filter on the turbo compressor, but you have to get a new UICP and the couplings to make it work, it looks pricey and involved to make it work, MAF = 175 , translator = 200, pipes = ~125 , but its a good thing to tune with.

The cooler the intake temps the better. If you put a filter on the turbo, then your sucking in hot air from around the engine and turbo. If you run an intake pipe and put the filter inthe traditional behind the passenger headlight, your temps will decrease. Or even better, run a pipe to the filter inthe old smic position. That would suck in great cool/cold air. Just don't drive your car through any puddles or the rain or water will get sucked up.

yea i wouldnt put the filter right on the turbo itself that would just be wrong. i like the position of the gm maf on the intake pipe more than on the uicp. and plus its cheaper :thumb: but what im wondering is the fuel. i know the gm maf allows to run more air which inturn would require more fuel. i have 550's rc's now. not sure if i would have to upgrade to 650's? im only running 16g on 18lbs but when that goes im upgrading up too evo 16g. i think i might just go to 650's now and be done with it cuz i have the afcII so i can always adjust them more or less if i need too and plus ill be better set for future upgrades if and when ill want more out of my motor:talon:
