2g maf in 1g question

i have a odd question about the swap. i already wired everything together and just had a question.

in the write up on the vfaq it mentions the ptu on the late 1st gen and 2nd gen swapping wires to use it but do i need to do anything for the ptu for the 90?

On my 90 i had a plug and play harness, and i never played with the ptu.

yea in the vfaq it tells you how to make the plug and play harness and what not but for the late 1g and 2g ptu you have to change the ptu.

i am guessing since the wires line up correctly the ptu is fine

You don't touch the power transistor. You must have confused the part where they talk about where to get the connector for the 2G MAF so you can wire it in.

hmm cause it has a chart showing the ptu wiring after moving wire 8 to position 5

It has a chart for reusing a Power Transistor connector to connect to a 2G MAF by moving the wire on pin 8 to pin 5. They make a point in several places that they are talking about using a late (91+) 8 pin power transistor connector instead of finding a 2G MAF connector. Again, I think you didn't understand what you were reading.

i have already just rewired it but wanted to make sure.


the way they have that written makes it seem like its necessary or a step was missing.

That is the VFAQ he was referring to in the original post. I'm not sure how that's helpful at this point?
