Hey just had 2 ball joints break within 2 months on my 97 awd. Read about a possible recall so gave my vin to dealer and nothing?? Was it only for nt 2gs?
I'm lucky how slow I was going went they broke, both times! But did take out my cv boots and damaged wheel well. Usually ball joints show signs of wear or play before they break. Already fix the pass side, just waiting for parts for other side.

your 97 had its original ball joint . brother there had been warnings i assure you!

I seem to be confused on your problem. You called the dealer about a possible recall for ball joints that broke on a car over 15 years old? :hmm:

Sounds like bad luck bud. 15+ years is a long enough time for ball joints to last.

Agree the warnings were there. Fortunately they usually break at low speeds. You are correct to they did do a recall but not sure if they actually fixed the problem or just replaced them with newer ones.
