The only thread I was able to find about TheRetrofitSource.com is fairly old and no one really posted any feedback about the headlights after being purchased. I am completely familiar with the retrofit of the stock 2GB housing but modifying the headlight and figuring out a way to mount the projector inside the housing ect ect. I am interested in two projector kits that The Retrofit Source sells. The two kits are:

https://www.theretrofitsource.com/c...orimoto-mini-stage-3-kit-h1.html#.VyCOmE32a70

https://www.theretrofitsource.com/c...-xenon-mini-stage-3-kit-d2s.html#.VyCOqE32a70

Anyone install either of these kits that have some feedback on how they perform, install and quality? I do not care about the price and price difference from doing a self retrofit with some BMW headlights, I am willing to pay the money for these kits but wanted to see if anyone had used them/opinions on either. If this has been cover extensively in a thread that I somehow missed, please point me in the right direction and I will gladly read through it.

I used the Morimoto Mini H1 5.0, with the mini gatling shroud when I did my retrofit. They have held up well for 3 years, the only issue i have had is the headlight fogging over again, but that has nothing to do with the retrofit. The install was easy and straightforward, and I choose the h1 kit because it fits in our headlights with only cutting of the bulb hole.

Message @Moonlight GSX as he was selling some and is very helpful on this no doubt, since he has already built a set maybe he will be the person to ask, pm him

I bought the Mini H1 kit to retrofit into Spyder headlights last year. One of the projectors had the wrong size screws and bulb clip. Had to go back and forth with them trying to explain why the screws and clip was wrong and I even showed them what I received on the other projector and they still insisted it was right. They finally sent me the right parts after several days waiting for them to check with their techs.

After that install was smooth and easy. The HID bulbs don't sit flush in the housing and can wobble around quite a bit by pushing with your finger. One projector is brighter than the other. After a couple weeks one of the solenoids started sticking so now I don't have high beams on that side. For all the positive reviews they get, I'm really questioning their quality and service after what I had to go through. I really didn't want to tear open the headlights again just to send them back for replacements so I'm running them as they are. I don't use high beams that much anyway.

Overall the brightness and look is still better than the projectors that were in the Spyder housings.

the first link, its $270 for each side or both?

The $270 is for both sides.

Detail- What is your opinion of them? Reputable company that make a product worth the $$$ they ask for it? If there is a problem with one of their kits, do they back it and fix what needs to be fixed? Would you buy again from them if you bought a new car?

The Mini projectors have come a long way both in performance and reliability.
However, I personally still prefer an OEM projector - that's all I've ever used in my personal retrofits.

Some of the best people I've ever met in the industry on a personal level. Part wise I've had a few bad ballasts here and there. I call, they warranty.

On average about 10 cars a year get retrofitted at my house. All the parts come from there. They've been in business 10+ years at this point. (I only know this because I went to their anniversary party last year).

They also own HIDplanet. You can go there to learn a lot about products and people's installs.

Just avoid the Ebay projectors that are ripoffs of there older MH1s. Get the real deal, the new minis are amazing for what they are.

Even the generic Mini H1s aren't that bad. TRS sells them at a cheaper price point but they will need to be tuned and tweaked to get the best possible cut off (this was even needed with the older ones TRS sold but not the 7.0). However if it's your first time doing a projector retrofit - I'd avoid the generic brands. Tweaking/tuning projectors is almost an art form in itself.

I've been dealing with TRS/Matt for almost the same amount of time, either for my retrofits or customers.
They really are a great company and have certainly helped me out of a jam or two plus they stand behind there product.

Now as for the Mini H1 7.0 projectors - I'm impressed. I retrofitted a set into my DD this week and for the price I'm very pleased with the performance.

I wanted something OEM but I needed minimal down time since they were going in my daily driver (Fiesta headlights are stupid expensive so I took a risk and didn't get spares).

There's some good info over on HIDPlanet for tweaking the older MH1s.

Did you create a thread for your fiesta on HIDplanet? I follow all your other threads
