Ok finished my rebuild have about 30miles on the car.
The issue I have is I am unable to get it to idle correctly and there is some smoke at higher RPMs and after it seems to build a little boost. There is no shaft play at all.
compression across the board is about 180.
Also it don't seem to boost correctly. I know the runners are different between the 2 but it bolted on just fine.

Just wondering if anyone knows if this could be part of my issue.

That is not your problem. A manifolds designed to fit our DSMs (1g, 2g, evo) will not cause symptoms of engine malfunction or turbo failure.

I would do a boost leak test since "It don't seem to boost correctly" its most likely the retarding in timing you are feeling.

What type of smoke? color? smell? location?

The smoke seems to be white maybe with a blue tint it seems to come from the exhaust and Jpipe. The smell the wife says smells like normal exhaust nothing strange about the smell.

I did do a boost leak test and it was fine. for got to add that

Let me update my comments there is white smoke from the exhaust and brownish colored smoke from the J pipe if that makes since.
