I have a friend that has a 95' gst with a stock turbo.... He go to wot and at about 3k rpm it starts to hiccup and buck at ~10psi... It does this for a while then it goes all the way to the redline and it tapers down to 6~psi... Is this normal?? We thought maybe clutch slipping or turbo goin bad... can anyone chime in on this... thank you very much

I got the cor from mi girs cause she got a new one. the sprplugs that are on the car are calld Bosch Platimum Plus. they were bought at Auto Zone. I look to see what the gaps on them are and ther read 0.8 millimiters or .030 inches. i still havent done the boos liack test yet.

Platinum plugs are known to often cause issues with these cars. Switch to NGK copper BPR6ES plugs. Even if it doesn't solve your issue, its a good choice to make, and cheap too.

X2 on doing a boost leak test...sounds about right and the NGK plugs mentioned above are much better. Keep us updated after you perform a boost leak test.

Swap the plugs for some BP6's, do a Boost leak test, fix any leaks. If your still having issues check out the knock sensors condition, I had a bad knock sensor and it was causing me to stutter and buck back n' forth under WOT. Check the turbo for shaft play also. Good luck !

Yup change the plugs and do a boost leak test. Search "boost leak test" on You Tube and there is a vid on there that gives you a good idea on how to make your own tester. Also, check your coil. Good luck.

I change the spark plugs to some ngk and the hiccups stopt. but the car still losing boost. i have not had the time to do the boost leak test. and also my chek engin light keeps on coming on and the cooads that gives me are the manifold differential psessure sensor and the iddeling sensor.

Search Classifieds here, or ebay, last choice is to auto parts store for those parts. Replace those, do a boost leak & compression test & even a fuel pressure test. Could be your fuel pump going out. You can check the voltage that the pump is getting OR just upgrade it :thumb:

Just pull the clip from the MDP sensor. It will throw an exception but the obd2/MUT DTC wont catch it and your CEL wont come up for that at least.

We'll need a code number for the idle sensor.

Do your boost leak test, it is the root of most problems.

Wow! I've been having the EXACT same problems. But my car takes forever to... or dosent even climb to redline. I was searching a lot so I didn't want to ask. I blame it on boost leak (because I was playing around with the greddy type S h*t) or spark plug. The guy before me bought new Champion plugs with only 1300 miles of use. I just order ngk 7es whatever! See if this would help a little.
