yeah so i have a 90 gsx. and dont get me wrong i LOVE my car, but damb that first generation pop out style sure is ugly. at least compared to the 97 - 99's... and i wanted to get some response on converting my front end to the 97 - 99 style.just the bumper, hood, lights, and fenders. it sounds kinda crazy and hard to do ,but i know its possiable... its just expensive body work. i had the idea for a long time and ive never seen it done. im just looking for the right deal and/or the right man for the job. some advise, comments, critisisam, ect... if somebody knows anything on the subject it would be useful.

thanx
stay fast folks!!!

well you pretty much summed it up with everything you said...

its going to be...lots of body work, expensive, and time consuming. You are MUCH better off just converting to the 92-94 front end...

like you said your going to need, lights, bumpers, fenders, hood... If you do some searching around you will find info saying you may need to do some wire splicing as the lights do not have the same plugs, you may have to cut\weld some spots(nothing major) some people had to do it, some people didnt...

Hope this helps a bit...but the 95-97, or 97-99 front end swap would be a helluva lot more work...worth it to you? if you got the money and time.

Found this post on DSMTalk...

Punisher: The part that holds the 2 screws that supports the side of the 92-94 headlights, behind the corner lights is different, you will need to cut out the old one and spot weld the new one in. Also there will be some wire splicing involved since the cars use different lighting connectors.

convert it to the 92-94 talon front if you are going to convert anything. The 2g front is very rounded, and will clash horribly with the sharp edges of the rest of the car. Just my opinion. Not to mention the fenders arent even going to come close to matching the doors. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Honestly, I think it is a stupid idea. Like CrazyM said, if you're that set on getting rid of the pop-ups, do a 1gb conversion. Also, I agree completely that the curvy 2g front end would not go well at all with the rest of the 1g body.
You'd be better off buying a 2g shell and swapping over your powertrain, if that's what you want to keep.

Big28 2gFWD convert it to the 92-94 talon front if you are going to convert anything. The 2g front is very rounded, and will clash horribly with the sharp edges of the rest of the car. Just my opinion. Not to mention the fenders arent even going to come close to matching the doors. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

on the matter of the fenders lining with the doors i was just going to cut the 1g and 2g fenders at the top of the wheel opening (were there is less metal to cut) and weld + bondo it up the best i could.

thanks for the input all of you guys!:)

Your better off doing the head lights. Putting a 92-94 hood on there modify it to fit you may be able to adapt the 2g bumper by splicing it with a 1g bumper.

I once saw this ugly 1g, during spring break while I lived in Daytona Beach, Fl for college. It had a 2g front and rear conversion. It looked horrible could not tell what kind of car it was until I looked at the unmolested door.

You're crazy, dude! The pop-up lights are so sexy. One of the favorite things about my 1G. Keep it stock!:nono:

It doesn't look right with a 2G bumper on a 1G. The 2G bumper is too round for the squareish 1G car.

If you want a 2g, buy one. 1ga and 1gb's are nice looking cars imo, and lot's of people like them, if you don't like the body style just sell it and buy a 2gb and leave the poor car alone. It's going to look half ass and tacky as hell.

id like to see a good quality photoshop though

People put Supra and Mazda lights on DSM's, at least this is slightly tasteful.

Crazy idea man....Hopefully you like what you get out of it and the worst case scenario is you have to find a parts car to go back........Like there isn't a million dsm parts cars out there haha.
