Long route piping sucks IMO. Check out the VRSF FMIC kit. It's just a bit more and is much better overall. What turbo is your friend running? Having too big of a FMIC is bad for performance as well.

a 14b. i told him about the pr kit and the vrs ,but he want this one. i just want to make sure if it is a bolt on.

Best bet would be to contact the seller and find out if it's a direct fit with not bumper modifications. Eclipse bumpers seem to have more space to put a FMIC in there where as the Talon bumper WILL need to be cut to put anything in there.

The newest version of the VRSF kit is easier to install but you will still need to bumper cut and cut the rad support.

The VRSF is the best bang for the buck though as long as your turbo is flowing enough to make use of the large volume.

99% of aftermarket fmic kits will require trimming the bumper, and the majority will require modification or removal of the stock bumper support. the PR kit is the closest to a "bolt-on" kit ive ever seen. only required trimming the bumper and the drivers side inner fender liner. a friend of mine has the vrsf kit, and, although its functional, i think it looks like trash. im a little OCD and like things to be symmetrical, though.

I agree with the punishment racing kit. Its a great quality kit, I just installed it on mine, very painless.

This kit is a semi-bolt on kit, very simple to put on with minimum works. It has all the pipes connecting to stock throttle body and TD05 turbo. For Stock CT26 Turbo, it needs one different pipe, Contact us when you pay if this is for Stock Turbo

Auction spells it out to me. I agree though everything for the most part requires some minor work. aside from trimming it's the mounting that requires work of the intercooler. Given the cars i've worked on.

However i'm just getting started on the gsx but, i'm prepared for some work to make things fit.

who makes one of the better short tube fmic kits that fill up the whole grill in the front of a 98 gsx after i trim that hiddious upper lip off it? i would also prefer red or black tubing as well. i have an 18g turbo by the way.

If your friend is on a budget and a 14b turbo, he'd be better off spending money on something else. Chances are this FMIC will make his car slower. What other mods does your friend have?

Im not a noob i know what his pros and cons are, he want a front mount cus the pipes on the stock ones are leakin and also the smic. mods are 14b, walbro 190, 550cc, dsmlink, 2100act, act lightweight flywheel, aem wideband, 2.5 dowmpipe and 3 inch exhaust. I tuned that car to 18 psi with the stock smic because was knocking for that small smic, he borowed my pr fmic and i tuned again at 20 psi without knock. but now his stock sidemount is leaking all over the place.:hmm:
