I broke the connector that goes to the engine coolant temp sensor while installing a new engine and now no start. Will this keep my 2g from starting and does anybody know where to get one?

the car should start without it, it should come up with a coolant temp CEL, the connector will have to be found in a junk yard, a bunch of chrysler and jeeps use them, i have one off a cherokee in mine but i hade to cut a grove in it because the alingment grooves were different between the two. hope this helps

well back to reading no start threads I quess. Im loosing my mind trying to get this thing to run. I ve got spark and fuel but still no start

I did reuse my old fuel injectors off my old engine that sat for 3 years maybe those

Im reading that the engine coolant temp sensor not being plugged up will cause a no start.anymore opinions

I can vouche it will run without it being plugged in,

It will just run ## fans 24/7 cause mine stays unplugged because my sensors bad and if I plug it in it overheats, so I'm waiting to put my prosports in to replace the sensor with my prosport sensor :) hope this helps.

Well I found this and my car hasnt run for 3 years so its definitely a cold start-It tries to run but wont and it gets plenty of fuel???Bought a new connector so I can hook it up to see if it helps??

2. Does the car eventually start, or act like it's trying to start? Is the problem especially bad after the car has sat overnight, or on a cold day? This is likely your ECT (Coolant Temperature Sensor). The ECT is the first sensor the ECU looks at when you start your car. The ECU asks it "How cold is it outside today?" and the Temp Sensor responds. The ECU takes that information and decides how much fuel to send to the injectors. If your ECT is faulty, the ECU will either get an incorrect reading back, or no reading at all, and will stay in open-loop, dumping fuel into your cylinders, making your car excessively hard (or impossible in some cases) to start.

The Coolant Temp Sensor is located on your thermostat housing, towards the bottom, on the left/front. It is a two-prong male connector (one prong on a 2g). Inspect the wires going to the sensor first – there is a lot of heat down there, and wires can become brittle and snap off of the connectors due to age and extreme temperatures. The following information demonstrates how to check the operation of the ECT on a 1g. For 2g, refer to FSM.

When mine died, the car would not start. From reading over the years it really depends on the vehicle, but in my case, I couldn't get it started. You should be able to grab a sensor from a junkyard, or just solder the wires directly to the sensor and then shrink wrap everything.

mine wouldent start when mine broke... i put a 1g sensor in and wired in a 1g plug... the plugs for the 1g coolant sensors are common on both 1 and 2g's its the one that have two male spade connectors in a "T" patteren its the same plug for 2ga fog lights and a few other plugs also

mine has been like this for over 6 months and i always get good readings on dsmlink
