I just got a 94 AWD TSI that is completely stock with only 80k miles. runs great. I am in the process of doing ALL the maintenance i can on it before spring hits. I have the short stainless steel clutch line that deletes the clutch dampner cylinder on a 2g. I noticed that there is no dampner cylinder on a 1g. there is only a rubber line from the hard clutch line to the slave cylinder. however they sell 2 "different" short clutch lines on the internet. one is for 90-94 and the other is 95-99.

can i use my 2g line on my 1g to delete this 20 year old rubber hose. ? does anyone know if thread sizes are the same on 1g and 2g? are slave cylinders the same?

I would prefer to reuse this line instead of pay $50 for a full line.

I don't see why you couldn't use it. Although the slave cylinders are different between 1g and 2g, the lines going to them use the same fittings. If anything, the 2g line is probably a little longer than the 1g one.

Just fyi, $50 is for the full "Master to Slave cylinder" ss line that replaces the factory hardlines. You should be able to find the short line for a 1g for around $20 pretty much anywhere.

Just my .02. Hope it helps.
