2g cas

I got a new 2g 97-99 turbo cam..

My old cam is threaded... My intake one that i bought is not threaded for the cas...

Now im wondering do i need it to be threaded, or can i just put the piece that looks like this -o- in there and itll be fine?

if your talking about the cam gear than the 95 96 are different than the 97 98 99 because the cas is totally different, you can take the cam gear from your 95 96 and put it on the new cam (they're the same size) but you need that piece to run you cas. the exhaust side can stay as is.

no,... im talking about the Camshaft angle Sensor side of the intake Cam.


My old intake Cam is threaded on BOTH sides..
My new intake Cam is threaded just on the cam gear side.

My question is, can the dowl ( -o- ) <-- that peice, just sit in the slit that the intake has. or do i need it to be threaded so a bolt will hold it in place?

can anyone answer me please?
