i know that you asking "Y" but i have a 95 tsi with a built motor with 10k on it. i have a 92 tsi and i am sick of being too slow. is it possible to swap the motors between the 2 cars. just the block not the head. i have a 1st gen head p&p with ss valves ready to go. any help with this is appreciated. :thumb:

So let me understand this. You're saying that because your built 7 bolt is in a 2g DSM body ,your car is too slow?WTF :toobad: You can swap the motors but it's a pure waste of time based on your "too slow" comments.Perhaps your car needs tuning or something. What mods do you have on the 2g?

Actually 1g motors are held in place by 3 motor mounts ... in a 2g it's only 1 mount. With that said I'm not sure if the holes are there on a 7 bolt motor for 1g left and right side mounts, but I do know the left side of the block has a different shape on a 6 bolt. Therefor I think no, you can't.

All you would really need to put on the 1g is a turbo and boost controller and supporting mods. A "Built" motor won't make your car faster, it just makes it stronger.

my 1st gen is all stock, thats what "slow" im talking about. my 2g has eagle rods wiesco pistons, studs the typical upgrades, i ran a 20g with cams bigger injectors all that crap. i sold most of my parts to pay bills. the 2g is basicaly stock now and i just want to sell it but i got money into the motor. thats why i was wondering about the swap. i figed that if it could be done then i wouldnt have to go rebuild another motor and have down time between getting parts and the time to put the motor in the 1st gen. anyone looking for a 2g built motor with less than 9k on it.

Is the 1G motor blown? If not, put your money into mods, not the motor. A stock 1G motor can handle over 400hp, stock turbo can't.
