2G axle mount?

When installing my drivers side axle, I noticed that I was missing the mounting bracket on the axle that holds it to the block. This:

The drive shafts fit fine and I really haven't had a problem related to it but I was kind of curious if anyone knew if the FWD's had those brackets on the axles or not. Just AWD? Wrong Axle? Previous owner took it off?

I think it would help with power transfer by holding the axle still.

In my experience I have only seen those on the AWD vehicles.

For some reason unknown to me the FWD do not have that bracket.

Only the awd's have those brackets.

Those are indeed only on awd dsm's. There is a completly different axle for the drivers side of FWD DSM's.

Will the AWD drivershaft fit on the FWD? I kind of want that bracket, every front wheel drive car I've worked on has a carrier bearing mount on the long shaft and while I've never had a problem not having it, I'd still like to have it because I think it would help with wheel hop.

So I guess I'm going to attempt this mod on my car while the axles are out.

Anyone have a 2G AWD drivers half shaft and intermediate shaft they want to donate or sell to me? I'll do a write up for the procedure and results.
