Several years ago I started a 6bolt swap awd build up. I am finally getting around to putting everything back together and i am having a problem with the front driver side axle.... it seems to be too long because the suspension wont go back into place. i purchased the axles from driveshaft shop in 2004 and no longer have the original ones that came out of the car to measure them up to. the intermediate shaft/carrier bearing is the original one from the car and bolts up to the block with no problem. i took the shaft back out and made sure that the axle was locked in fully and it was without a dout.

the best i can figure is the problem is with the axle. did they make different length axles with 1g and 2g? auto or manual?

i hope they did not send me the wrong axle....i may have a hard time tring to get it sorted out 4 years later

Good luck getting it right the first time. Each time I've had to replace axles it took numerous tries to finally get the right ones as there are many different part numbers for the front axles.

all i know is 4 years ago i called them up and said i have a 96 talon 5 spd awd that i need some axles for and that is what they sent me.

so you are saying that the auto and manual axles ARE different lengths right? i thought just the intermediate shaft/carrier bearing were different lengths
