I've been doing as much research as I can and called a few vendors looking for advice on a set of coilovers. As far as features they all seem to be about the same and I'm being told the same thing. I've searched but haven't really come up with much as far as direct comparisons or first hand experiences.

I've just finished rebuilding the suspension for the most part. Solid poly bushings in both subframes, all control arms, spindles, new wheel bearings, new ball joints, front and rear camber kits, sway bar end links. Now my car is going to see alot of street and strip duty, in the future I'd say entry level autocross/ road racing.

I've got around $1100 in the budget for a set of coilovers. I'd like to get some info from you guys about a couple different brands. I'm looking for differences between them, advantages/ disadvantages, basically why is one better than the others. This is what I'm looking at:

1. BC Racing
2. Megan Racing (not EZ street)
3. K-Sport
4. D2

Thank you for the help and knowledge.

Megan, K-Sport, and D2 are all identical products with different paint schemes. Choose the one you like the colors best.

Edit:

Those BC Racing coilovers look like a black and gold painted K-Sport/D2/Megan Racing. They are all made in the same factory, and painted different colors for the various companies. Just go with the set you can get the best deal on/color you like.

Well there was a group buy recently... DGR. If I were you, I'll pick the cheapest one and save your money till you can make your own DG.

I may be a newb to this forum but definitely not to DSM's in general. I'd really like to hear some first hand experience. I am going to daily drive this car with weekend track/ course racing. I've listed my budget for the coilovers themselves, rebuilt everything else, and I'd like to know what my best option would be.

Call JIC they are soooo much better than what you are debating. I just installed some and without corner balancing, alignment, and better tires they are unreal. Do it once and not feel like you cut any corners.

That's part of why you don't want any of the coilovers you listed. The shocks all have way too much high-speed compression.

I love my K-Sports Kontrol Pros on my Sentra, B15. I've had them for over 4 years now. I DD the car, and sees minimal autox/track use. Over 130k on them, only replaced the struts once.

Last year sometime on this board there was a thread about the Koni GC kits. At that time is was brought up that Koni was stopping production on the Yellow 1g AWD front and/or rears. I attempted to order them that day and was told there were 5 in Denmark and 2 months later I ended up getting a credit from Stillen because the 5 in question got sold a few hours before my order. I am not sure the 1g Konis' are available.

Lucky enough he has a 2g and might be able to do this combo. I wanted this as my suspension so bad and now I am just kinda watching how the DGR group buy pans out. I may end up with a D2 setup and there is a thread on here about that not being the same as Megan/K Sport. They are the same bodies but are supposed to having completely different valving and can be rebuilt here right in the states.
