Hi everyone,

I'm currently having an issue with the wiring portion of my 95 gst auto to manual swap. I started by working on getting the reverse light to work. I have the right sensor, bought new wire to cut and solder from the sensor into the ecu. Had everything hooked up and still no reverse light. I know the lights also work. If anyone has any experience with this and is willing to share would be awesome. I also have to do the speed sensor and ignition needs correct wiring.

I have some pictures of where i ran the two wires for the reverse. They are the bigger wires on the bottom right hand side bent down on the harness.

I think the speed sensor is fine as is. The plug on my AT was able to plug into the 5 speed. As for the ignition, all you really need to do is put a jumper wire on the 12 pin plug. As for the reverse, I think there are two wires on that plug that also connect to the reverse lights. I don't know where the whole plugging into the ECU comes into play but the lights aren't controlled by the ECU. I'll have to look through my notes when I get home in the morning.

If you could confirm this with me thatd be great. I've been doing some reading on other forums and they say youre suppose to rewire these sensors. If I don't that'd be awesome!

It's been a while since I did this swap, but crimson is correct. The old plug under the hood needs jumpered to actively start the car and on that same plug the reverse light wires are there. I can't remember the color codes, but my reverse light work. this was on my 95 awd eclipse btw

As I said to you via PM, the speed sensors are the same for all 2g turbo FWD and 2ga AWD, M/T and auto. So no, you do not have to do any rewiring for the speed sensor. The 12 pin plug that went into the auto has 2 wires for the reverse, #5 and #6 pin. You can cut the wires from the plug and wire it directly to the harness you have or you can use tap wire taps. Verify the correct wires by using a multimeter to detect voltage.
