2g antenna

Hey guys just a quick question on the power antenna on a 2g. Mine works well its not like a problem or anything and even though I use the cd player a lot I occasionally listen to the radio... and that thing looks like a flag poll in the air! anyways I was wondering if I could switch my antenna to a shorter more "sportier" one? Are there any kits they make for 2gs? thanks

Adjust your mirror so that you don't see it anymore.

It'll take just about any aftermarket antenna you want to put on it, from dinkdick little S2000 nubs to unbreakable rubber ones to plain masts (like the Talon's) to even longer ones.

It will probably have minimal effect on your reception to change.

You can install an inline switch and have the antenna up or down whenever you want.

shave it and use your cd player.

SOME not all aftermarket heads only power the antenna during radio reception, and drop it the rest of the time...


thats another solution...

or you could swap antennas with a talon owner who wants a power antenna...

for some reason I hardly ever notice a talon antenna (black and thin) but you are right that you can see the eclipse antennas a mile off

i never noticed it till i looked at this thread. i went out and turned on the cd player and MY GOD, that thing is huge. it looks like real life RC car with the big antenna coming out the back. i might try the inline switch. it looks extremly stupid looking at this huge 6 foot antenna from a little car. now it bothers me and will be taken care of.

I was thinking about putting on the rubber antenna instead of my power antenna but kids walking by the car always screw those things off and take them so its a waste.
