Hi i had replaced my 2g Alternator after it went out on me for some odd reason it would eat up my belt and always squeeled and it finly went out so i bought a new one and it worked for a bit like 10 mins and ill be damned if it didnt start makeing a noise and squeeling and then started smokeing

so i losen the belt some but it seems it only charges 1/2 the time now so was it possable i over tighten the belt and screwed it up? or maybe i just got unlucky and got a bad Alternator cause i know its a refurb Alternator also is there any thing on the motor that could cause it to mess up the Alternator? as far as i can tell the betls spin stright and dont wobble

What is smoking, the belt or the alternator? Remove the belt and check for play in the alternator pulley, and that you can turn it easily by hand. Don't leave that belt loose. IIRC, that belt also drives the water pump. Tighten it back to proper tension.

(Better punctuation would make that easier to read.)

a tight belt over time can mess the alternator up, but not in 10 min. It is possible
the refurb you got isnt any good. (somone may have bought it / fry'ed it and returned it)

yeah it turned out to be a bad alternator so i returned it and got another and it seems to work fine other then the fact the belt squeels after i start the car and only squeels for a few mins which was what my old one did every sence i got the car.

I have no idea why it squeels its pretty tight the belt is and none of the pullys looks warped when spinning

Are you sure it's your alternator belt that's squeeling? Try taking it off and starting the car without it. Obviously don't run the engine long with no water pump. While the belt is off make sure the water pump and PS pump turn freely.

Have you tried a brand new belt?
