Ok, im not a noob to the dsm world but am to the alternators. I bought what i thought was a 2g alternator, which I triple asked the guy if it was a 1g,and he said yes it was. Well i read that people put 1g alternators in their 2g cars. But is the same way reversable?
I put the 2g in my 1g and i seemed to run fine, i connected the wires the same way as the oher posters did. But tonight was the first time driving with lights on. Well i got home and shut down the car. I remembered i forgot to plug the a/c plug into the a/c fan. So i plugged that in. I went back and tried to start but it went click click. Dead battery.
I noticed from the get go that my dash lights were dim for the 30 miles i drove, which means the battery was doing all the work. The alternator wasnt charging. Anyway was the plug i forgot to blame? Or do i have the two wires from the 1g back wards to where they should be on the four wires? I left the outside two wires unconnected like they are supposed to be.
Please someone tell me the ac plug somehow disconnected is to blame.. im about to order a alt from oreillys just to get on the road. Thanks.
