2g 4g63 7 bolt into 1g

ok ive been trying to find info on this but no luck. i know it has to have been done before.. the deal is i got this 1990 talon tsi fwd.. for 80 bucks.blown engine.. got a 7 bolt out of a 98 talon tsi awd for free.. was goin to drop it in.. but the mounts are different.. is there a easy way around this.. or am i shit out of luck on using the 7 bolt..???

...for the trouble, you could just rebuild the 6 bolt. 6 bolt is an overall better motor. Just my opinion though. Typically, people put a 6 bolt into a 2g, not the other way around.

yeah but if he already has the engine don't go to a 6bolt. It probably has the revised split thrust bearings.

7 bolts>6bolts

ya i think since its out of a 98 the crank walk problem was fixed...

but the 7 bolt has 1 motor mount and 3 tranny mounts
the 6 bolt has 1 tranny mount and 3 motor mounts .. see my prob...

i dont know if its like this on all of them or just because its out of a awd???
