Ladysmith,
Ok guys, at this point I'm willing to take advice, suggestions or anything you might have to help.

Full rebuild, 1g rods, 2g pistons. 272's. Trying to tune this thing, can't even set the timing, it just jumps around, surging, but not really surging, it's only fluctuating 250 rpm, and it's not hitting the idle surge cut rpm, no where near.

Setup is as listed in the title, old style S-AFC, Maf-t v2.02, 550's, evo 16g......

Pretty sure the cams are what's causing the greif here. What have you guys out there done to setup your car with 272's? We were going to go out and tune (it's my friends car) and he mentioned that he wasn't sure if the base timing was set dead-on, so we went to try to do that, and just terrible luck. The idle should be at 750-850 to set the timing normally, with the lil pin thing grounded out, but with 272's should we try to get the idle up to 1000rpm?

we have the idle knob on the AFC pegged +30, which takes some of the lumpiness out of the idle, but it still idles like shit, and hunts around.

The biss doesn't do anything, we can wind it all the way out and there's no effect. Winded it all the way down, and about 3/4 of the way down it started to lower the idle like it shuold, but above that point there is no change for the rest of the 3/4 upwards.

We tried setting the MAF-t for 550's 450's, basically everything on the AUX-0 table....

Any one get anything we can try?

Do you guys use the instructions that came with your Maf-t, or the fullthrottle tech one posted by Kpt1234? (something like that) The one that came with ours isn't very well explained.

HELP!!! :D :coy:

Thanks,

i would suggest a boost leak test. also with the 272's i set my idle up to about 900rpm and it runs much smoother than at 750rpm.

We did mention doing that while we were working on it, we're pretty sure there isn't any, but I guess it's possible.

Would that be cause this much trouble though?
