I have an hour looking for a picture of some 17x9 wheels mounted on some 245/45r17, i need to see how how they look on the rim, just this particular tire "NT555r drag radial".

help me out please, doesn't matter hat car is it or what wheel.

Personally I can tell you they look like drag radials if that's the answer your want. The width of the tire is whats ganna make them have that "beefy" look if that's what your looking for. If you want looks and like the grooves then the BFG g-Force T/A Drag Radial are "cool" looking.

Are you sure you can fit a 9 inch tire in there...That would be awfuly close..

I currently have 235/40r17 Nitto nto5 on my 17x9 which are 243mm section width, this 245/45r17 are 249mm which is 6mm more witdh, 3mm to each side and i have 10mm of clearance to the knuckle so 3mm to each side is not a problem.

right now my 235/40 nto5 look a little stretch (look at my gallery) it doesnt look bad, but a taller tire like the 245/45 a little strech would look terrible.

my best 60'ft is 1.69, i just want to improve them and since the nto5 are not ever drag radials, i think ill see a big improvement. I was thinking on going with 245/45r17 Hoosier drs but i don't want to brake my axles or tranfer-case.

Really..Cause my buddy has a set of 18x9's and were thinking they are gonna be too wide to fit my car..I also don't know the offset either..

But cool man..If you can fot a 9 inch wide tire in there more power too ya..:thumb:

EDIT: checked out your gallery..Those 6 spokes are 9 wide..Damm..

What is your offset? Are you asking about stretch or if they will fit? No idea on the stretch but I can say that you should be able to fit it no problem. I am running 18x9.5 with a 255 tire and don't hit the spindles, fenders are rolled though. I will add that with a +35 offset I had to use a 3mm spacer in the rear to clear the spindle though. Hope this helps part of your question even though mine are 18s, 17s should have even more clearance though

I'm pretty sure 2gs can fit bigger wheels and tires than our 1gs.

I'm not asking if will they fit but just asking for a picture of any 17x9 wheel on a Nitto nt555r .

I had 255/40r17 before so i know fitment is not a problem, oh i wont have more clearance if my wheel is an inch smaller because the tire diameter will be the same, in this specific tire which is almost a 26 actually i would have even less clearance, you are probably in the 25 tall tire.

Anyways thanks for the post it can be very helpful for some of the other members.

What brand are your 255/35r18?

Ok I didn't think you were asking about fitment but the previous posts kind of leaned that direction haha. I am very interested in what you can/have fit width wise on the 17x9 without rubbing on the inside as I will probably go with a 17x9 when I get some track wheels.

When I bought the wheels they had Bridgestone Potenza RE01Rs on that I had replaced because they were showing threads. Replaced them with General Exclaim UHPs for lack of cash at the time. (Not a fan so far, sidewall seems extremely soft. Daily wheels though so not a big deal.) Both tires fit fine with no rubbing on the spindles

With the RE01rs you where at 25 diameter and 10.3 section width of the tire, Nitto NT555r are 25.7 diameter and 9.8 section width of the wheel.

ill probably go with NT05 255/40r17 because i want to make my goal on a street tire, diameter of this one is 25 and 10.12 section width

Yea, I was more saying from the confusion of his post that they look like any other drag radial that I have seen just different pattern. It's just a tire LOL so I guess i was all confused what he really wanted to I was just like yea they look like sexy drag radials.

All i'm asking is a picture of some Nitto 245/45 on a 17x9. :( I'm a math freak so i know and over understand what can i fit in it.

I just want some picturess even if not mounted on car just on wheel.

Unless you have a boatload of power and/or are trying to avoid a shift, you really don't want 245/45/17s. You want something like 245/45/16, or, if you insist on 17s when your brakes don't require it, 245/40/17s.

Let me throw in some 2 cents to help you on your journey. Most people don't run that tire setup as you can see, best bet maybe try going to a tire store get some wheels of the size specs you want and throw on your nitto tire and see what it's like. You aren't really going to find really anyone with that tire setup, as jtmcinder it was some good advice, even if you have a boatload of power you probably won't see alot people with that tire setup still. I personally like my 16's. Best hit the drawing board and guesstimate how you want your setup to be. It's different for everyone, and good luck on your adventure!:hellyeah:

536AWHP, I'm into drag racing. A 25.7 tall tire its not a problem at all!!!, it would help me trap in 4th gear and get a little more mph out of every gear. So your saying the Hoosier DRs 245/45r17 unless you have 800awhp. LOL I know a guy with hta68 using them and hes trapping only 121mph and only like 400awhp and that one is a 26 tall tire. How tall of a tire does English Racing on his little auto with the HTA68? I'm sure they are bigger than 24'' tall slick.

I have an s2000 for Road Racing. the DSM is only for drag and weekends, not into Auto X or RR on this car.
Thanks for all the help, I'll keep looking, i already have the wheels so i'm not changing them. I'll probably gonna go for 255/40r17 Nitto NT05 which i had a while back.

I'm asking for a picture of a 17x9 wheel on Nitto NT555r 245/45, If you don't have one or don't have any usable info for this don't post, why let this go out of topic?

English Racing, like myself, run M&H Racemaster Street/Strip DOT slicks in 235/60-15 on their HTA68 car. According to M&H's website, they are 25.4" diameter. Lucas runs Motegi Traklites 15x6.5 and I run Drag DR-17s 15x7.

M&H Racemaster Street/Strip DOT 235/60-15

I would never run a drag radial, personally. The sidewalls are typically way too stiff and you're just asking for broken drivetrain parts. You'll have to be really careful. ER and myself have both run consistant 1.4x 60's (ER has run multiple 1.3x) using the above tires, which are DOT legal bias-ply slicks.

I know that isn't what you asked, but I thought I'd just give you my personal experiences and advice. :thumb:

Excellent. But I needed to be sure that you were avoiding fifth and not just vegging out. Carry on. But I'd still go with the smallest wheel that clears the brakes, for all of the usual reasons.

Let me reword my post. "You most likely won't find anyone with a pic with that wheel/tire combo is all I am saying." No one really runs that so my best bet to you was to go see can fit that tire on a a wheel and see how it looks and fits is all. Happy hunting!:thumb:
