I've noticed that the MT 22 spline transfer cases from the 90's are about 7-8lb lighter than the 23 splines. It didn't make sense at first because they both have the exact same exterior dimensions but I confirmed it on the scale. Is there a reason for this other than heavier metals used in the casing/interals and if so which one is more durable?
