My 1G is getting up there in miles and will soon be at 150k miles and I am wondering if it is safe to run 20psi. I have all the good parts on it (Evo16g, 550, 255lph, MAFT, FMIC, and more) but the engine is totally stock. Assuming it is all correctly tuned with zero knock, good timing advance, etc what is the real danger in going from 16psi to 20+psi? My guess is a much increased chance of blowing the headgasket as well as more load on the main and rod bearings. I don't want to blow this thing up but I would love the extra power from 20psi :D

As long as you're reading good compression and have kept up on maint. you should be fine. Your engine is only as strong as it's weakest part
