20g Ebay turbo Rebuild??

I wont be rebuild it I have a friend who is a lead tech at the local Mitsubishi Dealership and he says he can rebuild it no prob, So I was wondering is an ebay kit ok, And also I have heard some people say the Shaft needs rebalanced and I have heard other people say it doesnt, My friend says it doesnt

My 20g has bad shaft play and smokes, already checked the blades and shaft to make sure they are not bent,

It is a very good idea to have it balanced. Did you make sure that the fins weren't contacting the housings at all? I know you said that they weren't chipped, but it if it just running a bit it will wear the outsides of the fins.

Yeah we checked to make sure they didnt contact the housing, As soon as I noticed the turbo going down hill I threw back on the 14b,

If this turbo is a real MHI 20g and not an ebay knock off I would talk with Justin and get a true MHI rebuild kit. There is no sense in taking a rock solid turbo and risking it with a china turbo rebuild kit.

Yeah Its a real mitsubishi 20g, how much does his rebuild kit cost?
