Just so everyone who actually cares knows this:::: There is a good chance there will be no DSM stock appearing class this year...

I'm still interested. As far as not having the stock appearing class, alot of the faster guys will be upset with that becuase as I saw at subie vs mitsu day at englishtown the 16 second subies won since they were more consistent. It takes alot to make a fast car super consistent. slightest boost leak or traction issue or ignition miss and well, there goes the day for you. We all know how much are dsms love to have traction, boost leaks and ignition issues. LOL

Hopefully I'll get to go in '09. I made it out to the '07 reschedule to watch a friends 4G63 Conquest. Even thouh there wasn't many people for the reschedule, it was still a blast. :thumb: :talon:

-DWR-DSM, Why would your car eat gas? a good tune should be all you need
my set up while its not a monster gets 29-30mpg on the trip and my friend (cougareliminator) also got the same mileage with his awd and more mods then me.

You know, in leiu of what happened with the Buschur camp this year (and how they rudely tramped on this forum) I'm not quite sure I'd like to support the shootout anymore. Eh

I would like to hear more about this.

I also would. I haven't heard anything about this... WTF :talon:

Buschur basically said, DSMs are dead and if he had to rely on sales to DSM owners his shop would have closed up years ago. So yes, pretty shitty BUT......

the shootout is not about buschur even though they host it. It's about getting to see tons of fast DSM's (and evos) meet a whole bunch of people from around the country that you know from forums and just be a part of an awesome experience for 4g63 enthusiasts. It's an experience you'll have stories from for years to come and I still think it would be worth it even if evos did outnumber DSM's and david buschur cares less about them now than he does about evos

I went to the shootout in 07. It was a pretty good time, the track day got rained out though. This year I MIGHT be going with my two buddies with evos. We take 80 out there also from the 81/80 crossings. Id love to meet up with some people if we do go and cruise out in a convoy ;)

As for the buschur situation: The shop has pretty much given up on DSMs and abandoned them sadly. The evo is a money maker and people with evos generally have more cash to dish out. I dont like dave or his shop but the show is fun just for socializing.

As long as my talon is in good working order, i will def meet you guys on the road to head up there. I can def go rt 80 all the way over. I would suggest going to cedar point also for a day before to ride the rides and shit. Its a beautiful place in sandusky, ohio. I have been to cedar point many times. So yea, if my car works i will go FOR SURE. NO ifs ands or buts about it. The photos from last years looked awesome.

and if your car doesn't work, we'll get you a ride :thumb:

It's like this, every shop owner has pissed someone off; regardless of what business you are in. I don't see Marco hosting an event. And if he did, I'm sure that even less people would show up. The shootout isn't about Buscher it's about us and our DSM's. He may have made some comments that were not wise but at least I haven't heard of one person saying that he stole their hard earned money; unlike like some others (cough, marco, cough). He doesn't need us and we don't need him, but everyone benefits from the shootout.

I agree. As long as the shootout is going on I'm gonna go. Now if they stop having a track day and all that good stuff then we might have to move it and just use another venue but as for now I'm all about it.

Sandra, dont you remember me saying something like this for us to do a year ago when i said about having a shootout or a mini one here in pa or nj? You guys know how many dsms are in this area. And it doesnt have to be dsms, it can be other modified cars as well.

That sounds like a pretty good idea, there are tons of DSMs in NY, NJ, PA, MD, etc to get a pretty heavy crowd. The question is where and when could it take place. I def. think someone should do it and if need be I'd love to be a part of making it happen

Etown, Atco, Maple Grove, MIR to name a few. Those are the big wigs around here that i know of at least. Obviously we would have to rent out the place on a dead weekend. There would be an admission. But i think it would be a lot of fun. I think we could EASILY get 300 cars to go. Easy. At 40 bucks a pop to get in, thats 1200 bucks to spend towards the cost to rent. Get some sponsors and vendors to show up from the area. Open this up and you've got yourselves a nice meet!!
